15/05/2018 - Round Three

The third round of germination was started yesterday evening. Here's what I started:

- Akatsuki no Murasaki (Ipomoea nil)

- Asa Kumo (Ipomoea nil)

- Asahi (Ipomoea nil)

- Blue Flame (Ipomoea nil)

- Fuji Swirl (Ipomoea nil)

- Pink Porcelain Blizzard (Ipomoea nil)

- Dream Catcher (Ipomoea purpurea)

- Jamie Lynn Hige (Ipomoea purpurea)

- Curly Pink (Ipomoea purpurea)

- Split Second (Ipomoea purpurea)

- Convolvulus tricolor / Dwarf Morning Glory - Ensign Mix

- Ipomoea macrorhiza / Big Root Moonflower

- Ipomoea pes-tigridis / Tiger-Foot Morning Glory

I'm really looking forward to seeing the leaves of Ipomoea pes-tigridis as they are some of the most beautiful leaves I've ever seen (resembling a tiger's foot). I'm not sure if the seeds I have are the pink or white flowered form. We'll have to wait and see.

Also interested in seeing how Ipomoea macrorhiza will do. It is a perennial morning glory with caudiciform roots. The root can grow to a very impressive size in just a couple of years and the flowers and foliage look very lovely.

Also the first time I'm growing Convolvulus tricolor. It is a classic, ornamental dwarf species. I'm growing mixed seeds in order to separate varieties for next year. They come in blue, purple, pink, red and white. All with a yellow and white center.

A selection of Ensign mix varieties.

I will probably start offering some seeds for trade soon on the website. I won't be able to offer many varieties yet but am hoping a lot more will be available at the end of the season. A page dedicated to trades should appear on the website soon.
