morning glories

-Tomislav Maretic

The Ruvan Asagao morning glory vineyard was founded in 2016 by Ewoud Vandenberghen (aka Walt) in his home town of Leuven, Belgium. He discovered the amazing beauty of Japanese Morning Glories, known in Japan as Asagao, after he grew his first Ipomoea purpurea varieties in his home garden the year before.

Morning Glories come in a wide array of colours, patterns and shapes although most varieties are very hard to find outside of Japan. We try to collect every variety we can get our hands on and we're even in the early  process of creating some of our own unique varieties.

We have collected 194 varieties of Morning Glories among 27 species so far and with countless left to grow and be discovered the journey is never over.

Be sure to check out the garden blog and photo gallery documenting these amazing varieties. We also have a Facebook page and Twitter account.

This website is still a work in progress. So check in regularly for new content and blog updates.
